absence of light | ohio university
Absence of light was a performance art piece exploring darkness. I wanted to play with light's absence in two ways: Blindness and Isolation.
When one no longer has sight, their other senses take over. Hearing in particular becomes vital. The piece is structured around a sound event.
The isolation was created by covering each participate's face with cloth as they entered. Additionally, after the event, my assistant and I ran around the room screaming trying to find them. One participate is pulled from the room and everyone else was left alone in silence.
