dead man's cell phone | doane college
certificate of merit in sound design kcactf region 5 2010

Dead Man’s Cellphone began with a very realistic sound design. As the show continued, the design became more stylized and surrealistic, beginning with the sound of microwave popcorn which grew louder and louder till it overpowered the space, and climaxing in the final scene with themes for each character’s new life and the sound of Mother incinerating herself. The dumbshow at the start of show is repeated as the protagonist is sucked into Gordon’s Hell. This time, however, the theme is distorted and warped. The original dumbshow came from the Moon Soundtrack.
